Rosie Keogh
Owner/Photographer

My love of photography and passion for acting have brought about Rose-May Photography.

I have worked primarily in the industry as a film and television actor for ten years, and as a headshot photographer for the last six.

I love creating images that tell stories, so was naturally drawn to shooting faces and portraits. Rose-May Photography was established in 2016 in Sydney to focus exclusively on professional headshot photography for actors.

During each shoot I create a relaxed environment and aim to capture the essence of each individual, whilst working through a range of authentic expressions and emotions.

I believe having an understanding of the film, television and live performance industry is extremely important for an acting headshot photographer to know. As a working actor I can fill you in on what agents and casting directors look for in a headshot, and the typical do’s and not to do’s in the current Australian market.

I often use the sunlight to create natural, stunning headshots and have the option for studio flash photography. I work mostly in and around my home studio in Brisbane, QLD and travel regularly back to Sydney, NSW for headshot bookings.

Some previous clients include;

Stan. Corporate Headshots/ Press Release, WIFT/ Women in Film & Television Event Photography/ Press Release- Inside Film Magazine, Dark Waters Film BTS/ Press Release- ABC iView/ SEED, Amali Golden Headshots/ Actor- seen in ‘Thor Ragnarok,’ ‘Bloom,’ Brooke Nicole Lee Headshots/ Actor- seen in ‘Mako Mermaids,’ ‘Stage Mums’

What gear am I using?
I work with the Canon EOSR mirrorless camera body. Mirrorless camera’s ensure high quality, often superior images, with faster eye tracking and crisper focus. Along with a very high pixel count.

I also use the top of the line camera lens for my portrait photography; Canon RF 85mm, 1.2f which offers highly accurate colour collaboration, sharp focus points and a smooth transition to a creamy background bokeh.

Lighting for headshots I use a mix of natural light and flash photography. I prefer quality brands like Phottix, Lastolite and Godox for my lighting equipment.

Image post processing is using Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop.

I am passionate about offering high quality headshots at an affordable rate, as I understand what it is like being an actor myself, with the ongoing fees/expenses this industry requires.

Rose-May Photography is an industry recommended headshot photographer for actors by StageMilk and Parramatta Actors Centre.
